29th Judicial District Court returns to Courthouse
All court appearances for all divisions of court in the 29th Judicial District will now take place at the courthouse in Hahnville located at 15045 River Road. All courtrooms have been updated and are ready to hold court.
Judge Connie M. Aucoin Selected Chief Judge
Judge Connie M. Aucoin has been selected to serve as the 29th Judicial District Court’s Chief Judge. Judge Aucoin’s term as Chief Judge commenced November 16, 2023 and will continue through the end of 2024.
ORDERS ISSUED FOR HURRICANE IDA CASES
On November 21, 2022, three en banc orders were issued for management of certain property damage suits arising from Hurricane Ida in the 29th Judicial District Court. The orders are as follows:

29th Judicial District Court Reopened Post-Hurricane Ida on October 1, 2021
The 29th Judicial District Court reopened on Friday, October 1, 2021 following a one-month emergency closure period due to Hurricane Ida. Damage to the St. Charles Parish Courthouse has required temporary relocation of the 29th Judicial District Court from Hahnville, Louisiana. The St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court has resumed full operations during regular business hours at the St. Charles Parish Courthouse, 15045 River Road, Hahnville, Louisiana.

ABOUT THE 29th JDC
The 29th Judicial District Court has original jurisdiction of all civil, criminal, and juvenile matters, and appellate jurisdiction from all justice of the peace courts in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. There are three elected divisions of court, each having general jurisdiction. In addition, the Court maintains a specialty court program - Adult Drug Court - as well as a Families In Need of Services diversion program.
